Globally, on a daily basis, a large number of commodities are transported from one corner to another. From food to medicines, smartphones and furniture are transported over long distances across international borders. On average, 90% of about 11 billion tons of goods are transported annually by sea. Almost 60% of goods are shipped in large containers, whereas commodities like crude oil or grains are shipped directly inside the feeder vessel.
